


Ilan Bombach is one of Israel's leading litigators, with more than three decades of experience in complex litigation, civil and commercial disputes, constitutional and administrative petitions, white-collar matters, and the management of public and media crises.
He founded the firm in 1996 and has headed it ever since. Over the course of his career he has appeared many hundreds of times before the Supreme Court and has acted in some of the most complex and widely reported cases in Israel, helping to shape numerous precedents and establish important points of law. His clients over the years have included the Prime Minister, the State Comptroller, generals in the IDF, senior figures in the defence establishment and the Israel Police, government ministers, Members of Knesset, heads of local authorities, business people, companies and public organisations.
He has particularly extensive experience in commercial, constitutional and administrative law, and in representation in complex petitions before the Supreme Court. He has appeared in many proceedings broadcast live, as well as in proceedings heard before expanded panels of the Court, including the hearing of the petitions concerning the amendment to Basic Law: The Judiciary on the reasonableness ground, which was heard for the first and so far only time before a full panel of all fifteen Supreme Court justices.
Alongside his work as a litigator, he serves as a mediator and arbitrator in complex disputes.
Over the years Ilan Bombach has held a series of public and professional positions. Among others, he served as Chair of the Tel Aviv and Central District of the Israel Bar Association, Chair of the District Ethics Committee, a member of the National Council of the Israel Bar, head of the National Litigation Committee and head of the Bar's Courts Forum.
He was also a member of the advisory committee for judicial appointments in the Tel Aviv District on behalf of the Israel Bar, and served as Chair of the Society for Medicine and Law, as chair of statutory appeals committees, and as acting chair of the National Road Safety Authority.
He lectures to lawyers, executives, public bodies and academic institutions, including Tel Aviv University, Bar-Ilan University, Ono Academic College and the continuing education institutes of the Israel Bar Association.
He also serves as a reserve officer with the IDF Military Defense, within the Military Advocate General's Corps, where he represents clients in complex criminal cases.
Ilan Bombach holds an LL.B. from Bar-Ilan University and an LL.M. with distinction from Tel Aviv University.
He completed his legal clerkship with Hanan Melcer, who later served as Deputy President of the Supreme Court.
He has been a member of the Israel Bar since 1992.
